The market town of Častolovice lies in the Orlická tabule on the right bank of the Bělá River. It is about 2.5 km from Kostelec nad Orlicí.

Častolovice Castle was created between 1588 and 1615 by converting a water fortress into a Renaissance castle. In 1694, Adolf Vratislav ze Sternberga bought Častolovice. The castle park includes a deer park with white fallow deer, a rose garden and a water garden.
